Students visited Beech House care home to spread festive cheer with donations of handmade gifts.

On Wednesday 19th December, a group of Level 3 Carpentry and Joinery students from Goole College visited Beech Tree House Care Home to spread some festive cheer! They donated a handmade wooden figurine to the care home as an addition to their usual Christmas decorations.

Whilst there, the students engaged in conversation with the residents and this gave them the chance to socialise with people they may not normally get the chance to meet. The visit was a great success and one resident in particular, a sprightly 99 year old lady, certainly left a lasting impression on our students. So much so that they’ll be making regular visits starting in the New Year. A great way to start 2020.
