If you want to work in the construction industry, one option is becoming a wood worker. The Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Study Programme is for those of you looking to become joiners and carpenters. This programme teaches you theory as well as practical hands-on skills, learning how to build doors, frames, windows and roofing, as well as covering essential on-site health and safety, backed up with additional maths, English and employability skills. The course is based in College with work experience gained in the construction industry before moving into your trade without having to worry about gathering work-based evidence as in an NVQ.

This C-Skills and CITB-validated course leads directly into a Level 3 Programme or an Apprenticeship. You could also find a job at entry level on site.
